first off, hi im new. i love this forum, lots of useful information.


now for my problem.

this morning my alarm was going off and i was being my usual self and hitting snooze.

about the 3rd time it went off i went to hit it again and my screen went completely white. i have the colorball app and it still stayed the color i had it set to. so i turned off my phone and tried turning it back on, nothin. i took out the battery and the LED indicator was red when the battery was setting on the metal thingies (love my technical lingo) but when the battery was securely in place, the LED turned off.

so i went to the charger and plugged it in and still no LED. held down the power key, the red came on. then green, then yellow (wtf!?). and the yellow blinks very slow and steady. but nothing more happens.

tried taking out the battery again, and now the green LED has been on consistantly for about 20 mins.


sooo.. any ideas what happened?

i'm hoping i can get some answers before i hussle my butt to tmo and get a replacement.

Sounds like, at best, you need a reload of the OS. At worst, hardware failure. You can try connecting it to the computer and running JL_Cmder (in my sig) to wipe it. If you end up with an error 507 then you can reload the OS. Or, hussle your butt to tmo and get a replacement.

ok i installed the JL_Cmder and i didnt get a 507 error when i wiped the phone.

right after the red LED came on again and that was it. it still wont turn on.

still nothing.

i went to the tmo store and they werent much help. they said it was either the phone or the battery (gee, ya think?) and since they didnt have a battery they couldnt test it and see what one was causing the problem. all they could do was tell me to go to another store, arg.

Well I don't think, given your description, that you should spend hours trying to fix the phone, albeit I do believe in self-help on most problems.

Take the phone to another store and get a new one. Screw spending 5 hours on this.

to get a new phone i have to call their customer service and go thru the tons of troubleshooting (them telling me what to do on the comp, and me thinking.. my pearl wont go on! just gimme a new one!) but i guess i'm just doing it for the fun of it and everything. uuuggghhh...

i've been pearl-less for about 14 hours. and my backup phone (samsung t809) JUST died.

i'm now entering panic mode.
