RIM has Suncom Wireless package 4.2.1.140 for download. This contains 4.2.1.91 and 2.3.0.75.

I know the version number is lower than the Rogers OS, but given that RIM seems to be creating as many new bugs as they are fixing, maybe 4.2.1.140 is worth a try? Thoughts?

Hmmm. Hadn't heard about it. Maybe good reasoning, but I'm at a happy medium with Cingular .71 (because of those bugs) I'll let someone else be the guinea pig for once.

I'm gonna give this a try as the Rogers software has been giving me problems. I'll report back if it works.

EDIT: I installed this and it works fine, unlike the Rogers one. Seems to be mostly the same as the TIM release, not really noticing any improvements. Ah well, new is new I spose.

One question, anytime I reset the device, it wants to go into the web browser and download OZ Instant Messenger OTA. Anyone know how to make it stop trying to do that each time it starts up? I don't want OZ messenger. Thanks

Go into options, Advanced, Service Books, and delete the one that says TMobile US IM Client or something like that.

Then go to TCP and make sure your APN is set up to wap.voicestream.com, with no username or password.

I had to do this when I did the TIM update. Not sure if you have to do the TCP one, but i remember I had to check that too at the time.
