Red face Need a cover, but I'm indecisive (and I did search 1st)!

Please Login to Remove!

OK, I've spent the last few days reading over past threads regarding dust under screens and what covers are best, but I still can't decide and my warranty replacement Pearl is due to arrive today. I don't want to have this dust issue again!

I don't really want to go the route of the BSE, partly because I'm impatient when it comes to putting stuff like that on, but mostly because I have a tremor that makes it difficult for me do it (which probably explains the impatience!).

SOOO... I guess I need to go the route of a case of some sort, but I can't spend a whole bunch of money right now and I don't want to make my pretty red pearl all boring and covered in black leather.

I guess what I'm looking for is suggestions on a decent-looking and reasonably priced cover/case of some sort to keep the dust up without ruining the look of my beloved red Pearl.

Any help? Thanks!!

You don't have much money.

You don't want to cover your Red Pearl.

And you don't want to, and cannot, apply a BSE skin.

I dunno, but your "don'ts" indicate that there is not much you can do to protect the Pearl.

I would suggest that you somehow cover the places where the dust entered, but I am not sure how it got in there. Could have been from the keypad, headset port, the USB port, speaker hole or the convenience keys, even from the edge of the display.

Interesting, I have only seen a few posts that talk about dust under the display, mostly from people who work in dusty environments [such as construction sites]. So not sure, but maybe the dust got in there from the factory?

eBay sells the clear plastic cases for a couple of bucks.

dust is inevitable no matter what you buy to protect your phone. it goes everywhere...

i usually pop off the batt cover once a week and use compressed air to get any dust out of all the openings i can find on the phone (also @ the trackball and keyboard). other than that and a wipe down with some napkins, i use Speck's seethru hardshell. protects the device real nice.

Get some one to assist you and order the BSE - it meets your needs (all of them really) and you will be glad you did!
