I have looked in the messages/folders/missed calls but it is empty. I have even made a few calls as a test, but still they dont show in the folder.

I will get a message saying I have a missed call(s) and the I do have an option to press "View", which I do, but it just takes me to the phone. Is there a setting that has to be turned on to see these? Thanks

Its taking you to the missed calls when it takes you to the phone. Look to the left of the name or number displayed in the list. If it is an incoming call that you answered, there is a blue handset icon with an incoming arrow. An outgoing call looks the same except the arrow is pointing the opposite direction. Missed calls have a yellow phone icon with an "x" next to it.

You can click view history on the calls and it will show "Missed called" or if you called, depending on what you did.
