Default blackberry messenger question

Please Login to Remove!

one of my friends has an older blackberry from verizon through work.... he can't add me or my other friend to his list, it just shows up as pending.... what is the deal, is it possible his company has a block on it, and only allows him to add co workers?

any help would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Yes, this is possible, and likely the case.

Yes there's a setting on the BES that can disallow any BB Messenger contacts outside the environment.

Yes, I know that. That's why I said what I said. ;)
Maybe you meant to respond to the original post, and not mine?

What is that setting called? And what version of BES are you referring to?

It's not really a setting, as much as it's setting up a peer-to-peer encryption key on the BES. If you set up a P2P encryption key, then only devices on that particular BES will have the key and can only PIN with eachother, since outside BlackBerry devices wouldn't be able to decrypt the messages.
