Longer Ring

Hello,

Would anyone know how I can make my Blackberry Pearl ring for a longer period. At present it vibrates 2 times and rings only 2 times before going to message bank? Appreciate any feedback as it is driving me crazy!!:idea: :-(

try this path.

profiles>advanced>highlight whatever profile is active> menu key> edit> phone>number of vibrations> change to 3

see if that makes any difference

that won't make any difference... just extend the number of vibrations and shorten the actual tone part of the ring.

I wanted to do this as well and I called T-Mobile on it a couple of months ago. They set something up on my phone with No Answer -Call Forwarding so that it actually CFs to my same number giving me twice the ring time before going to VM. I'm not sure how it works because I figured that would cause an endless loop of ringing until the caller hung up and it would never reach my VM.... but it does!

Hopefully the rep you talk to if you call knows what to do. It was a sequence of numbers I had to push into my phone...

Yeah -- make sure you do this with the help of a T-Mo rep so they can check to make sure that it is done correctly while you are on the phone with them! When I did this on my own, I had entered one wrong digit so it actually sent it to a recording that said "this phone is not receiving messages" instead of voicemail and I had no idea until one of my prospective clients emailed me to let me know my phone wasn't working!!! :shock:

You can also have them just extend the time before going to voicemail. I think my account was initially set to 20 or 25 seconds and they increased it to 30 seconds. it's usually plenty of time to pick up.

put the number of seconds in place of the XX in multiples of 5 between 5 and 30

Telstra
* * 61 * 101 * * XX # SEND
or
Contact Telstra Mobile on 125 111 for assistance.

Longer Ring

Hey, CaChookaMan

Thanks - it worked - now rings about 5 or 6 times over a 30 second period and gives me time to pick up the call when my phone is not right near me(y) (y)
