I am selling my pearl. How do I save any contacts I've changed or added to the sim card before I sell it?

if you save to the sim, you lose a lot of the info (assuming you have things like addys and such for your contacts). if thats the case, why not back up to outlook so you retain ALL of the contact information instead of just the name and phone number?

this isn't to say that contacts shouldn't be backed up to the sim as well... i'm just sayin, not all the information is on the sim contact.

oh yeah I understand that. I did a restore of all the info on the phone, but I want to have some names and numbers saved to the sim for when I put the card in a new phone.

It's a PITA, but I believe the only way to do this is one by one. Go into your address book, click on the contact, press the Menu key, you will see "Copy to SIM Card" at the top of the list.

I wish there was a way to do all entries automatically, but no go. But I do have a backup contact list on my Mac (per PocketMac), so I'm still safe in case I lose or sell my phone.

It appears that you can't save an entire contact to the SIM, only the individual phone numbers. The "Copy to SIM Phone Book" only shows in the menu when the cursor is over a phone number. Therefore, I'm not sure that you can save address or e-mail information to the SIM card either.

In a "How To Thread" I will be posting a link to a SIM card reader for purchase that includes a program to read the SIM card contacts. It allows you to enter contacts on the card from the interface on the PC. I think it was about $10 shipped.

I have to run right now [actually, go on my road bike], but as I recall in looking at my SIM card interface on the PC, there was room for 250 contacts.

ALL YOU CAN ENTER IS THE NAME AND PHONE NUMBER! There is no provision for addresses, e-mail, etc. I suspect this limitation is to not overload the SIM card space, which is fairly small.
