I'm out in the country in Mississippi and my Pearl keeps showing an "SOS" alert across the signal indicator. What does this mean? It seems to indicate more than just a lack of a signal. Thanks.

SOS means that your phone is only able to make Emergency calls.
You're probably just in a really bad coverage area.

What do you mean by "indicate more than just a lack of signal" ?

I think they mean that if there was no signal at all... the signal meter would just have an X.

Since there's more than just an X ... there must be something else going on.
In this case... they're picking up a signal, but it only allows emergency calls to be made. No other voice or data services.
