put it in your phone, go to options, advanced options, media card, then click the "blackberry" (the option) button to the left of the pearl and choose format....then you should be able to see it on the computer and put your songs in the music folder....good luck

Do the above and when you plug it in when it asks if you want to turn on mass storage, say yes. Then simply drag and drop mp3's into the music folder on the card (something like "Removable drive F:/ or similar) in "My Computer."

Insert the card in the device. Then check out this link. Start with the 1st FAQ for "Card Not Recognized" for formatting the card then go on to the others for adding music to the card.

thanks for the website... but i still cant get my stupid music to work maybe its my computer idk
i have tried the second option before and it just says everytime i try to put music on it says file is to large... i have no idea what to do
the first option did not make sense to me
"1. Make sure desktop manager is not open

2. Plug the device into the PC using the usb cord

3. A pop up box will open, select Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer

4. Minimize this window (click the - in the upper right hand corner)

5. Open another instance of Windows Explorer

a) Start Menu >> Windows Explorer

6. Navigate to the folder where the file(s) you want to transfer are located

7. Right mouse click on the file(s) and select Copy

8. Open the minimized window (from step 4 above)

9. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the file

10. Right mouse click and select paste

11. The file is now on the microSD card

can sombody explain it???

go to the media center section of the forum...there is a sticky there on file types that the Pearl can read for music and video....and if I remember correctly there is a size limit on songs transferred via Mass Storage Mode method....I honestly prefer the Media Manager method for moving media files on and off the Blackberry.

I've never had an issue with file size and mass storage mode. I've transferred full length movies that way. The only file size limitation I remember is 2.86mb for transferring media to the device memory in media manager. The SD card shouldn't have any file size limitations (other than the capacity of the card itself.)

*shrugs* maybe i mixed them up...I can't remember correctly...I just read it somewhere...maybe its Media Manager instead of Mass Storage Mode.

The 2.86Mb limitation is ONLY for putting files on the phone memory, not the SD card.

If you got the songs transferred to the card as they are then all is well. Don't worry about the 2.86Mb limitation. It doesn't apply.

If you can't get them transferred using mass storage mode in windows then turn off mass storage mode on the device. Plug the BB in and run Desktop Manager and try transferring songs using the media manager to the card. The card will show up in Desktop Manager if mass storage mode is off.

That's because you are trying to transfer it to the "device" memory, not the media card. Turn mass storage off and then try it again. Media card should show up in media manager.

Is it possible you got a bad card? This is a very simple process, usually.

Where did you get the card?

Under options >Advanced Options >Media card--at the bottom what does it say for total space, etc? Did you format the card while in the device?

Did you insert it properly? Open the metal clasp and insert the card into the metal clasp and then fold the entire assembly with the card down and lock it.
