Mass storage mode doesn't work at all

I've inserted a 1GB microSD card into the Pearl and even after formatting it does not show up as a disk in Windows or in the Roxio media manager. I have tried setting the BB to both the "prompt" and "Yes" settings for Mass Storage Mode. Has anyone else had this happen???
