Please Login to Remove!

One of my good friends has a verizon bb, and can read every message i send from my cingular bb messenger. however, he cannot respond, he sends it and it does not go through. his company said that this is a common problem with verizon to cingular ims.... is there any way around this, or to fix this?

Thanks!

Possible that your friend's company has restricted using PIN to PIN outside the company via an IT Policy.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Ditto what juwaack said... It has nothing to do with the carrier.

Yup. To the carrier it's just another data packet.

Even, you stated in your initial post you were questioning the PIN to PIN messages from your friend to you. Then you mentioned something about Verizon to Cingular Instant messages. IMs and PIN messages are two different things, likewise, IMs can run off SMS message as well as regular data.

You need to be a bit more explicit in your question, give detail, if you expect a proper answer. We'd like to help.

It's probably not blocked via IT Policy.
There's probably a peer-to-peer encryption key set up on your friend's BES.
His messages are encrypted, which is why you cannot receive them.
He can read yours, because your messages are NOT encrypted.

The BES admin on your friend's side would need to remove the peer-to-peer encryption key on their BES in order to allow PIN messaging to ouside users.
(Not likely to happen.)
