Default SMS Bug on v4.2.1.154?

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded my Pearl to v4.2.1.154 over the weekend and noticed what appears to be a bug in the SMS code. Before the upgrade I could compose SMS messages while I had no service and they would go into a "Pending" state when I selected send, just like emails. After the upgrade they try to send right away and error out with a red X, obviously because I have no service and it can't send.

Anyone else experience this? I have the same issue on the Curve that I'm doing a demo of. Almost tells me that anything newer than v4.2.0 has the problem, since the Curve has v4.2.2.

Thanks.

Try doing a hard reset. So the device pulls new instructions.

Basically turn the device on and take the battery out while the device is powered on. Leave the battery out for 45 seconds and than stick the baterry back in. The device should power back up automatically.

My pearl does the red X thing when I'm out of service. I have to resend. I think it's always been that way (makes sense to me).

Well of course, but it's just a pain. Sometimes I will compose a lot of SMS messages during my commute each most (most of which is underground where I get no service). Before the upgrade they went into "Pending" like emails do and automatically sent when I had coverage again.

Tried that, no go. Seems to definitely be a bug in the new version.
