I am trying to activate one of my users 8100's on our companys BES server. I tried running enterprise activation.....RIM message was received but it never activated. I proceeded to power off the Blackberry,remove battery(hard reset) and try activation again. This failed, I then wiped the handheld and the enterprise activation icon was gone. I deleted the user from the BES and then added her back. I tried resending the service books hoping Enterprise Activation would come back. I also loaded the latest 4.2 Handheld software to the users 8100 with no evail. Enterprise Activation Icon as well as Options-Advanced Options --Enterprise is gone...

Could this be anything other than the user doesnt have the adequate blackberry service plan?

I had this same thing happen because the account had not been provisioned for BES and BIS - just BIS.

You need to make sure you're signed up for one of the BlackBerry enterprise plans and not a personal plan.

On the personal plan, at&t will disable enterprise activation on your handset.

You'll notice that when you first get the device (or wipe it completely, or reload the OS), you have the icon... then as soon as you register under the HRT menu or the service books come down, that will disappear.

You can still access enterprise activation through one of the options menus.
