Wirelessly posted (BB 8860: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.1)

You need to call your carrier and add a "BlackBerry Data Plan"

if you don't have a data plan on your phone (which i'm assuming you dont, if you're getting that message), go to Options, Network (Mobile network on newer OS), and where it says "data services", select "OFF". Give it a few minutes to update, or turn off/on your phone.

If you have a data plan, don't do this, and I also dont know why you'd be getting that error.

i have the 8100 and i used to get the "data connection refused" message all but like stated in the above threads just turn off your data services. the message might hang there for a while but it till eventually display the carriers name instead of the message. atleast mine did
