Is there a program out there that would let me connect my blackberry to my computer (USB I am guessing) and have my blackberry screen show up on my computer so I can access programs. Basically a little window mirroring whatever is on my blackberry so I can type emails on my computer keyboard and send them through the blackberry or use jivetalk?

I don't believe there is any such application that allows you to 'remote control' your BB from your PC (that would be interesting, though!)

However, there are full sized keyboards you can buy to use with your BB (Bluetooth) to make typing easier. Check out Freedom Input - they are a sponsor on this site.

Thanks not really interested in a full sized keyboard. It would just be nice while I am at work to be able to control and type on the device through my computer.

Windows Mobile has had this type of application for quite a while. It was great for doing a lot of setup type things on the device. My guess is that there are no APIs to allow this in the BB OS or someone would have done this by now.

When I used various PDA's I had a program from SOTI called "Pocket Controller" that did exactly what you described.

Since the PDA market is tanking, I noted that they now say on their website that the program works with smartphones. But they say to contact them to ask about your particular device if it is not listed on their list of compatible devices.

As the other post said, I suspect RIM devices are not compatible because RIM won't let SOTI have access to BBs' code.
