Default help stupid question

all i need to know is how to get the abc off of the corner of my pear... i try to message people but it says abc and i dont want that i think i want "suretype" if that is what it is called or t9??? can somebody please hlep me thanks

When your texting you hit the berry button located on the left of the navigation ball and go down to suretype and select it and that should be it
