Is it possible to use Pearl as a modem connected to the laptop? e.g. when I'm in a place with no WiFi but still want to access the internet comportably.

Best using with BT but with USB it will be useful as well.

I recently set it up and it works pretty well. I get about 100 to 120 kps. Not bad for Edge. I use it exactly as you stated (when free WiFi isn't available).

I haven't tried BT and don't know if it can be done.

I see you're on Cingy/AT&T - beware of data charges. They charge an arm and 1/2 leg for tethering.

Yes, it can be done via bluetooth. Just set it up the same but using Bluetooth modem instead of standard modem. I believe you have to be using the windows drivers for Bluetooth, though.
