Yesterday my new pearl was working fine. I installed desktop manager 4.2 sp2 at home to sync my outlook addres book - which worked. I must have clicked something wrong because my wireless mail no longer syncs to the mail server at work. I have tried some things but cant get it working.

Do I need to change settings in my device or in desktop manager?

-I seem to be missing service books
-enterprise activation just says an error occured
-I think DM wants to forward my local outlook to my pearl, which is not what I want
-Desktop manager says my messaging server does not support wireless sync

I think this last bullit holds a clue, but I cant find out WHICH messaging server it is trying to connect to. DM is installed at home...


-settings - advanced - diagnistics shows server name, mailadress and connected to each with the value of my work adress (although it did show my private mailadress this morning). It also says: yes to blackberry registration, connected to BB an BB pin-pin.

I dont mind resetting the whole thing as long as I know how to get it working again

Call your BES admin and confess what you did. He/She will know just what to do. You'll need to reactivate on the BES.

Then uninstall Desktop Manager and reinstall it for BIS use (no BES or redirector) and then you can plug in.

If I install DM as BIS, will I be able to sync my contacts at home? basically that's all that I want. mail and calender wireless with work, contacts at home.

Yes, just turn off wireless sync for contacts on the handheld. BTW, it's a quick phone call to your BES admin. They can give you a password to enter into the Enterprise Activation and it will activate remotely.
