Unhappy New phone, lots of problems...:-(

Please Login to Remove!

So I just got a Pearl, and I've had problems ever since I connected it to my computer. A few of the problems....if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated! It's frustrating to say the least...
1.) Web Browsers completely disappeared...no access to them at all
2.) Help button displays error on BB
3.) When starting up phone, it has an error message pop up saying some file is missing
4.) No longer allows me to view media, such as pictures, preloaded media, or the audio I put on it
5.) Won't let me set up an email, but instead wants me to set one up through enterprise
6.) Will pair up with another Bluetooth phone, but will not allow any media transfer at all....

Did you update your desk top manager soft ware as it seems that it messes up the phone if not. I am on 3rd pearl because of this whe I tried to put a picture of grand babies on phone. I would have done that if I had known now I have canceled internet on computer and can not use the desktop manager. Am afraid to connect cable and use mass storage so I blue tooth everything take phone back get new one if ya can toriann

toriann, I am afraid that is not a common problem among users. Desktop Manager updates work quite well.

Kyake:
1-Browsers: do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan? If not, you won't have a browser. If you do, go to Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table and click Register Now. Pull your battery to reboot the BB. If that doesn't work, you may need to resend your service from from your carrier site:

2-If you mean the Help icon, you may have erased or deleted it somehow. Reload help through Desktop Manager > Application Loader (if you already have the OS loaded on your PC).
3-Any idea what file it says is missing. Knowing that would help. You may simply need to reload your OS to the BB for both #2 and #3 questions.
How do I upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ
4-ditto
5-See answer #1 above. Get a BlackBerry Data Plan and setup your BIS account if you have not.
6-Correct. You can't transfer "media" that way.

I downloaded the new software upgrade and it solved all of those problems, just like that. Thanks for the advice! I wish I would've done it earlier and saved myself all of those headaches. I figured since I just got it from AT&T, it would be upgraded...
Thanks again!

Had same exact problems. Brought mine back to store (within the 30 days) and got a new one. Haven't had any of the same problems with my new pearl (knock on wood).
