Unhappy Trackball Clicking Issue?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, i searched the forum but i couldn't really come up with something relevant.

Recently my Pearl has developed a problem of the pearl not selecting something when i click it. I will push down on on the trackball, but it doesn't actually select the item, then if i push down again harder it will work. Its not that big of an issue, but it is slightly annoying. I have tried cleaning it gently with canned air but it didn't work.

Is this issue covered by the warranty?

Thanks

Try cleaning it. I had to remove the silver ring first, which makes the trackball assembly come out, and blow it out with compressed air. Pretty easy. See

It used to do that too me, but now it doesn't click anymore. I'm too lazy to call and send it in, but I believe it is under warranty within a year of the purchase. But I don't know if you need the receipt or anything. I would definately do that if your going to keep it in the long run, but I plan on buying the pearl 2 the day it comes out. As for now, the non-click issue is very annoying, but at the same time I use the pearl so much that it may be for the better!

OH my god, after about a week, the trackball now clicks all of a sudden, but I still have to do it at an angle or press it hard. Before the upper right screen would press down for some reason when I clicked the ball. I'm shocked that it works now!

Hmm... Ok, thanks for all of the good information. I guess i will send it back in and get a replacement. Does any one know if they send new or refurbished phones for a warranty exchange? Also are there any special things i should do before i exchange it, like wiping it? Thanks

don't bother trying to fix it, the only way mine ever worked was waiting a few days. Taking apart the ball was fun but didn't do anything to make it better. I would send it in and most likely you will get a refurb

TMobile will send you the replacement first then you can return the defective one. You don't have to be without the phone.
