Default Is this how vibe+tone is supposed to work?

Please Login to Remove!

I've had my phone for some time now, and I'm not sure if it's always behaved like this, but it seems strange to me:

I have the phone set to Vibrate+tone using one of the built-in ringer tunes, medium volume, a flashing LED repeat notification, and 2 vibrations. When I get a phone call, the phone vibrates twice, rings once, vibrates twice, rings once.. etc...

Errr... I would expect it to vibrate twice initially only, then ring the rest of the time.

Is this only happening to me, or is this the way it is intended to work? If it's intended to work like this, then I'm going to jump on the "it should ring and vibrate at the same time" band-wagon.

Personally, I would prefer it vibrate twice, then ring. I usually carry the phone in my pocket, so in meetings or while talking to someone I can silence it before it disturbs anyone. However, if I do have it out of my pocket, I need it to ring more than just once in between two vibes.

Any ideas?

- J

I don't think you can. Bb have seperated the settings for ring and vib. You might try the elevate option. But fron what I understand, you can mute the ringer and/or buzzer. Or set the number of times it buzzs or rings. You might try having it buzz twice and aet the tone to elevate or cresando I think. Correct me if I'm wrong please I'd like to know. Sorry under the volume their is an "esclate" after loud

I've had this happen when using very short mp3's as ringtones. I'm not convinced that's what's causing it, though. It should vibrate twice and then ring after that. Try pulling the battery and trying it again. If it still does it I'd consider it a bug and try a different ringtone such as one of the standard ones and see if it still does it.

I have the classic ringer setup on my phone.
I have set it up this way:
1 buzz(vibration) then ring all the way.
if I do not want to take that call I have plenty of time to see who's calling after the buzz so I press the sided volume button/s to temporary mute/disable the ringing tone.
strange is that it works with some callers and it doesn't with others. if I press that sided volume button once it should stop ringing. it does but after 2 seconds buzzes and rings again.(only on some numbers)
this is the only ringtone I use, no other customized profiles or ringtones...

Laurentio - Could it be that for those people it rings again you have them set as "Important Calls" ? I'm not sure how this option works, I just noticed it in the profiles menu.

I have the Pearl. Mine does the same thing. I have learned the you just push the mute button on top of the phone and it mutes the ringing and the buzzing until it goes to voicemail.

I LOVE YOU!
I have been trying to figure out how to mute the ringtone for the longest time when a call comes in that I really don't feel like answering.
