Default Trackball Highlight Color

Is there a way to change the highlight color when you are moving from app to app with the trackball? In the sunlight it is difficult to see the yellow highlight and therefore difficult to tell what app you have highlighted.

It is theme dependent. You can't change it.

I assume your question has nothing to do with the trackball color, but is asking about what shows up on the LCD screen.

The Pearl, just like many, many LCD screens do lousy in daylight or the sun. Over time there have been some super bright PDA and cell phone displays that perform well in direct sunlight, but I have not seen many of those nowadays.

You can download various themes that show up better in bright light, including highlighted items. Some cost money, others are free. You have to experiment with them as most do not advertise as a feature that they work well in bright light situations.

What I do is cup my hand around the display or put it inside a jacket or other spot so I can see. At times I have even had to duck into a building.

Correct, not the trackball color but the color of the "highlight" as you move the trackball. With the Today theme it is yellow which is hard to see at times.
