Hi,

I'm in the UK, carrier is O2. My Pearl is running v4.2.1.93 (2.3.0.77)

Whenever I receive a voice call the display shows who is calling, i.e. it picks up the name from the address book.
However, whenever I receive an SMS from the same person it displays the number only, i.e. it doesn't pick up the name.
I found out why and have a workaround....

It seems that voice calls like numbers in the format 01224 567890, but sms likes numbers in the format +441224567890

So, in order to make sure that when somebody voice calls me or texts me I get their name I have to enter both the 01224 & the +441224 numbers in the same address list, 1 under mobile, and the other under say pager.

I know other people on O2 are having the exact same problem.

Any ideas if this is a bug which is being addressed etc?

I did try searching but couldn't find anything.

Should not have to do that, but I am not completely versed in the UK way of doing things...could be a O2 dealie.

Look at Phone > Options > Smart Dialing. What do you have in your country code there? Should be +44.

+44 did the trick........thanks!....now I gotta go re-edit my address book AGAIN....

I am having same problem on O2 in UK but cannot find the smart dialing option in the options application please help

pfchute, go to PHONE then Options.

In other words: Press the GREEN DIAL button and be in the PHONE application then click menu for options. Not the options on the main screen.
