Default Curve or Pearl?

Please Login to Remove!

I would first of all like to apologize to the mods for posting this in both the 8300 forum, and the 8100 forum, but I would like to get some opinions on this.

I recently purchased a Pearl from AT&T and have 30 days to keep it or exchange it. I am thinking about exchanging it for a Curve, but I would like to know what you guys (the users) think in comparing the two products.

I really like the size of the Pearl but I don't know about not having the full keyboard. I just yesterday figured out the SureType feature. (yes I'm slow, that's why signature has the line about me being an idiot, forgive me) It has been great but I'm still trying to figure out if I would be better off having the Curve's full keyboard.

What are your thoughts? Have you had both devices, if so what did you like better? Is there anything that one device can do that the other one can't?

I really appreciate any guidance that you guys can give me. I've already tried searching through some old threads, but couldn't really find what I was looking for.

It really comes down to full Qwerty or SureType I think. The form factor of
the Pearl is what works for me. I wear suits and can carry it in the pocket without ruining the lines on my trousers.

Well I have both and use both depending on what I am doing. With the Pearl I can't stand the suretype and therefore do not use it. I can email and text fairly quickly using Multitap. I like the size of the screen and the full keyboard with the Curve. If I had to choose it would be the Pearl. Love the size.

I find the size of the Pearl to be great, would not have it any other way. SureType is pretty good, once you get used to it.

I got the pearl a month after it was released and i love it and use it way to much. But I like the curve a lot because I text a lot and while I love suretype it's not good for constant texting. I'm still debating myself and I tried a dummy model at the att store. I don't know if the keyboard is different than the real one but I didn't like the way it felt and the buttons are way to close unlike the sidekick 3. But with that being said, I know I will get used to it in 20 min just like the suretype.

I've heard that the curve has a2dp support and that the video player has a full screen mode which the pearl does not. Also other things I've noticed about the keyboards is that people who have had an older BB don't like the suretype, but if your previous phones have had regular style keypads, then suretype is an awesome step up. I stopped at a Cingular kiosk in the mall and have held a dummy curve in my hand, and I think I prefer the smaller form factor of the pearl over the curve.

Default And the winner is...

I have decided to switch to the Curve. In the first few minutes since bringing it home I must say that I am very happy with my decision. Even after playing with the iPhone for upwards of an hour, and I prefer the Curve. The iPhone's keyboard was a major turn off for me. Other than that I really enjoyed the features on that phone. The internet browser was incredible.

Anywho... thanks for everyone for there responses!
