Default Can't store personal addresses

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone had this problem? I have to manually load up all my contacts from my SIM card into my Pearl everytime I use it. I just installed a 2 gb Mirco SD. But I still can't store anything on the address book in the Pearl. I tried a "copy all to address book" option when in the SIm card. But nothing appears in the BB address book. Any ideas?

Never had that problem. I have transferred SIM card contacts to the address book of the BB several times, though, and it worked.

Try copying a half dozen contacts... and then make sure they are saved in the address book.

Look at Address Book > Options. At the bottom of the screen, how many entries does it indicate you have?

Default address book

It says I have 49 entries. But those are what is in the SIM. I can't see any of them in the address book?

1- Enter a new entry of your own in the Address Book. See if that increases the count by one.

2- While powered on, pull the battery and reboot. See if they are visible now.

The Address Book indexes your contacts by Last, First or Company Name. If you were to have neither of those fields populated, they won't be visible.

I appreciate the reply Jsanders. I did what you said and still nothing. I made a new entry with a first and last name and it does up the entry count but still can't see any contacts in the main address book.

did you check to see if you have a filter applied? open address book, get the menu and choose filters - make sure nothing is checked

You can't even see the NEW entry in the Address Book? That is definitely odd.

Yes, do as Andi suggested, was about to say just that.

aky, in Address Book, click the Menu key (left of trackball, ith RIM logo).

To copy your SIM contacts, Address Book > menu > SIM Phone Card > it loads > Copy all to Address Book.

Good luck.
