Unhappy Pearl is deleting all my messages!

Please Login to Remove!

I'm having a problem with my 8100. As soon as I get a message it automatically deletes it. Often times before I can read. There are other times however when they'll stay on there for days, then randomly clean themselves. I checked my message cleanup option and it says to keep messages forever. Can anyone clue me in as to why this is happening??

Talking i figured it out...

apparently the 8100 (and maybe other models, who knows?) deletes incoming messages when your availible memory is close to zero. mine wasn't so i had to wipe my device and then re-install my os from the TMobile website. since i found it out on my own i figured i'd post my fix in case anyone else has the same problem. toodles!

You could update to the latest software for the 8100, follow the instructions exactly as posted at this link.

Low memory issues, also, read here:

Good luck.

I started having this problem a few days ago. Figured it out yesterday. I had to go to the TMO site and where I had set up my email accounts, I unchecked "Synchronize deleted items between this mailbox and my device." I think I had checked it for some reason last week when I was messing around.

I leave my computer on at home so when my computer downloads the email to Outlook, it's no longer available on the server (that's how I have it set up). So, apparently, as soon as the email was downloaded to my computer, it was no longer in the BIS server and since my Pearl was synching, when it went off the BIS server, it was deleted from the Pearl. Figured it out when I was sitting at my computer, watching the email show up on Outlook (which I have set to synch every 10 minutes) and the messages icon disappearing from the Pearl at the same time.

Thanks for posting this. I had completely forgotten the ability to go to T-Mo for e-mail settings. It's been about 3 years since I last did that. I went on there and changed my signature, on reading your post.

And good job detecting what was wrong. Pretty cool watching the e-mail icon disappear on the Pearl. God knows how long you would have been troubleshooting this had you not caught the Pearl in the act, so to speak.

Is there any warning sign before it deletes your entire inbox? Ive had the phone for a week, the phone has downloaded my whole gmail inbox 5 times total (each at a random time) and then I have subsequently seen of of them as well as call logs deleted. Where do you check amount of memory left? Anyone else have problem with multiple downlaods of entire email inboxes?
