If i'm coming from using a full qwerty keyboard, does the pearl take alot of time getting used to its setup and double letter keys?

Does the pearl do anything different than any other normal blackberry?

nope, it does not, you will love the suretype over the multitap in a jiffy.

I came from a regular cell phone keypad, it doesnt take me any practice to get use to the suretype.

Sure type takes you getting used to it, and it getting used to you. Overall its ok for emails and sms txt. Web addresses and passwords , and other specific terms work like c r a p with sure type, extremley annoying. Youll bee deleting alot of words, scrolling through possible words..

What I was trying to say is:

It takes me no practice to get use to it, seeing I am coming from a regular cell phone keypad, which the sequence of the key is from A to Z.

So, it will be even easier for the OP to get use to it coming from a qwerty pad.

Suretype doesnt work on password only, it works on everything else.

i went from a full QWERTY to suretype too and it only took me 2 or 3 days to get used to using it. its been smooth sailing since and i rarely have to correct it.

Personally, I prefer the QWERTY keyboard, but the Pearl does have a few advantages:

• The keys are larger, so you're more likely to press the correct button.
• The narrow keypad allows the phone itself to be much smaller, making it possible to type with just one hand in case your other hand is otherwise occupied.

I also came to the Pearl from a full QWERTY keyboard. It took me maybe 2 days to get used to SureType. The larger key size on the Pearl is actually a bit of an advantage for those of us with large thumbs.

I thought I would hate the sure type I held out to the very end. Now that I have had it awhile it works great. I have no issues with passwords or anything. I can type just as fast now if not faster and its awesome for one handed typing.

Took me about a week to get used to it maybe three weeks for it to learn me. Just depends on how much you use it.

I guess i've never tried to learn the SURETYPE so thats probably why i didnt wanna use it. I was just checking out how the pearl is incase i ever did verizon and the company had the pearl.
