Default another broken pearl trackball thread....plz help

for some reason, my pearl trackball doesn't work some times. it works if i hold it down for longer period of time. but if i just simply press enter.....nothing. it still scrolls left and right though. my question is, should i open the case up and try to clean the pearl and hopefully that will fix it? I'm assuming it might be sand or something getting in the way.

I would recommend that you go ahead and try cleaning it. Worst case scenario is that cleaning it doesn't help and you wind up taking it to T-Mobile to get it fixed, which is your only other option right now anyway.

Just be careful and follow the directions you can find on the forums for how to take the trackball assembly apart without breaking it.
