Hello...not necessarily a newbie but this is one of the rare times that I got into problem. I did a search hoping to find answers but was not successful.

I just upgraded to the "new" BB Desktop Manager software, v4.2 SP2 (in preparation for the ATT/Cing OS upgrade). Problem is, with the new DM, I don't see the option to select Media Manager anymore.

Now I only see: Application Loader, Backup and Restore, Switch Device Wizard, and Synchronize. However, I can access still my Media Card from the PC via Windows Explorer.

I tried re-installing the DM several times already, making sure that Media Manager is selected to be installed.

Any thoughts/help/advise is highly appreciated.

I am on the old T-Mo 42 OS so this may be totally outdated.

I was not aware that if you have the Pearl on Mass Storage Mode [meaning that Windows XP will recognize the MicroSD chip as a drive] that the media manager would still show up on the DM menu.

I thought you could choose one or the other. If you turned OFF mass storage mode, then DM would show Media Manager. And vice versa.

Did later OS's change this? I've never kept up on it because I don't like using MM through DM, it's so much slower than using Windows XP Explorer.

Did you download the proper Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2? There are two versions on Blackberry.com. There is one with and one without the Roxio Media Manager. The one with media manager is almost 300MB. The one with out is much less (less than 100Mb.)

I think I did. Filesize was about 232MB.

I have no problem accessing the Media Card (which I can see through Windows Explorer), what I can't access is the files stored in the Device Memory.
