Default How to lock with password on command?

Please Login to Remove!

i searched already.

how do i lock my phone when i want? i only know how to set it so that it locks whenever it goes into standby. i want it to lock on command WITH PASSWORD

Press and hold the * key. Or press the lock icon. Or map a convenience key to the lock keypad option.

did u set up a password? if not go to options then security and set password to enabled then it will always ask for a password when locked....

go to options > security options > general settings then enable the password

ok, let me get this straightened out.....

i want to lock my phone on command, with a password. i DO NOT want it to lock on its own when it goes into standby. i want to be able to press a key, or key sequence, and be able to lock my phone with a password.

Set "Lock Handheld Upon Holstering" to No. It will also lock after the amount of time you specify and I don't think you can turn that feature off.

when you hold * it locks and the password is automatically enabled

i think what he means is he wants to be able to enter a password and then the BB with lock...

Enter a password to lock it? It doesn't work that way. You lock it and then enter a password to unlock it.

no, i do not want to enter a password to lock it.

i want to be able to lock it, at will. i don't want it to automatically lock after a specified amount of time. i want it to be password protected only when i want it to.

you can lock it at will... its called selecting the LOCK function and locking it... or setting it to lock upon holstering...
