I got my new Blackberry Pearl (the red one, if it matters) from AT&T on Friday afternoon, and I had the Blackberry internet service activated today. Here are my issues (thus far):

1) On reboot, I get this error:

ApplicationRegistry waitFor (0xac3ae76427d17f19) timeout

I have to click 'OK', and then that error box disappears, and I have my home screen.


2) When I click Help, I get this error:

Error starting net_rim_bb_help: Module
'net_rim_ecmascript' not found.


3) I had a browser icon on Friday. I didn't pay it much mind since I didn't yet have the data plan activated. This afternoon, I had the data plan activated, and the 'data connection refused' message disappeared from the the top of the screen. However, now I have no browser icon. I did a search of previous topics pertaining to this issue, but none of the fixes have worked for me. So, when I didn't have data service, I had the icon. And, now that I have data service, the icon is nowhere to be found. It's like a cruel joke.


4) I tried to set up the BIS thing through AT&T's site. It asks for my PIN and IMEI. I've entered them both correctly, but it tells me that the information is wrong.


I just want to talk to people, surf the internet, check my e-mail, send obnoxious text messages, and have something beep at me to tell me that I'm supposed to be somewhere. Is that really so much to ask? I am three seconds from throwing the phone in the lake. Thanks for any and all help.

Was this a brand-new-in-the-box-BlackBerry from AT&T?
It sounds like, for issue #1 & #2, that you might need your OS reinstalled or updated.

#3 Go to Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table. Click Register Now. Pull the battery and reboot. If the browser does not appear, you may need to resend your service books:

#4 Call AT&T. If this is a new BB, explain that to them. If it is NOT new, you need to ask the previous owner to release the PIN.

Grazie. I have indeed resisted the urge to drown the BlackBerry (which was NIB from AT&T), but today is a new day, and the AT&T shops aren't open.

I tried the re-registration and rebooting as detailed in a few others threads found when I searched for the issue - didn't work. I will try the other suggested fixes, and I guess, drown my smartphone sorrows until tomorrow if the service book and OS re-installation suggestions don't work.

If it were me, if the errors don't cease and you continue with issues today, I would return that unit for another at your first opportunity.
