I just got my blackberry, so i'm a bit confused on some things. What does GPRS mean. Its saying it in the top right hand corner of the screen?

I don't know what Tmo is supposed to say but mine says EDGE

Ideally, it should say EDGE for T-Mobile users also. See my below post for more info.

Here's what the Getting Started Guide says about the network coverage indicators and what you can do when they are showing:




So it looks like the only difference between "GPRS" and "EDGE" is the speed of the connection, whereas with "GSM", "gprs", or "edge" you can only use the phone and SMS messaging.

I learn stuff every time I log onto these forums.
