just got the pearl and it shows 2:07 pm, March 1 2006. is this an old or refurbished phone?? there is a text message with that time and date saying my blackberry has been registered with the wireless network (think i just got that test) anyone explain? thanx.

and i tried to fix the time in settings and it wount change.

are these phones prone to problems???

Reset your time manually:

menu > Option > Date/Time > after you have selected your timezone and etc, change your "date/time source" to blackberry.

thanx, but anyone know why it was like that, new phones usually have the correct time automatically.

i bought mine used and all i had to do was set the timezone, sorry, wish i could help.

I had the same problem with the date of March 1st. I had an old BB prior to the Pearl. I connected the new Pearl to my desktop, opened desktop manager, disabled set date and time and did a manual synch. Messages popped up about the new BB being set to wireless, etc. I click through everything and now everything is working fine.
