Default Set default for SMS to go to Mobile number?

Please Login to Remove!

For me an SMS message is always sent to a mobile phone.

How can I turn off the annoying window that always asks which number to send the SMS to? I want to shout at the BB "the mobile number you idiot, how could I possibly want to send an SMS to a fax or a landline??" I have tried shouting, it didn't work.

Has anyone got an alternative corrective method for this annoyance?

nope.. as long as theres more than one number per entry itll have the selecion popup. if youre so bothered by it then you should just make mobile numbers into separate entries.

This annoyed me too, however the phone does remember the last number you call, as well as the last number you SMS, per contact. This means once you select Mobile, this will be the default option, and in the future you can just double click SMS without worrying about selecting the right number.

Good point and advice. The user was likely too busy shouting at his BB to notice that.

Had a play and realised it is inconsistent behaviour.

Go to address book, or message view, select a contact and the BB defaults to the last number used.

But if you type in the users name directly from the Home menu, press the menu key, select SMS and the BB always defaults to the first number on the list. That was the problem I had come across.

So, one extra click to go to address book .. or... type the number from the home page and do an extra click at the end.

Good catch. Let's hope they fix this in later versions.
