Default setting up email push, email inbox , and browser.. questions.

Please Login to Remove!

So im slowing getting used to my BB Pearl and starting to like it more and more.

Im still waiting for O2UK to get my data plan on my account so havent used the email or browser yet.

When i finally see the capital GPRS sign though i guess i'mm all good to go.

Is there anything i should be doing now though to set my email up ready for the push thing? Do i need to be getting this enterprise code i read about somewhere? And then when 'GPRS' is up whats the next step?

Also am i right in thinking if i add 3 address's to my Pearl then all the emails will come together in the same folder along with txts aswell.. doesnt seem very well thought out to me that part. would be better if i could separate texts and emails and ideally.. each email account?? is that possible even if i need an add on?

Finally.. i cant see a browser icon on my menu atall.. is this just because my GPRS isnt working yet?

thanks in advance.. seems a friendly helpfull forum!

Nathan

are you on a BB data plan? if you are, go to your providers website and find the link/login for the BIS and send your service books.

BIS stands for Blackberry Internet Service. It is the service through which emails from your accounts will be pushed to your BB.

When you add one of your email account to your BIS account, you will get a message on your BB that says something like "Your account [email address] has been successfully activated. You will start receiving messages within 20 minutes." When you receive this message, it means your phone has received a BIS Service Book, which is a file containing the information about your push email account.

but i will be nice
BIS = Blackberry internet service
service books are the things you send to your phone so you can get the broswers and all that jazz on the BB. but just do some research cuz its all on the site.

You don't need to search or do anything else with your service books.

Once you have a data plan, you will log onto your BIS account, add one or more email accounts you want to have pushed to your Blackberry, and the service books will be sent to your BB. You will know they have arrived because you will get the acknowledgment message I mentioned earlier.

Your internet browser icon should also appear once you have the data plan. If it doesn't show up once the data plan is active, pull the battery and put it back in. This will cause the phone to reboot, and that will most likely make the icon show up.

There will be an inbox for each email account. A copy of every email will also be placed in the Messages folder, where you will also receive SMS, MMS, and PIN messages.
