Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Yes. It is essential that you read BBFaq cover to cover and the last 30 days of forum posts....

Seriously, welcome to the forum!

What is it you generally want to use your BB for? I usually say Beyond411 is essential, but you may be going in an entirely different direction.

GMail - gmail ap on your bb
GoogleMaps - view maps and look up locations
GoogleTalk - IM app for your BB
OperaMini - better browser than the one that comes with the blackberry
QuickTipper - if you go out for dinner with friends often
JiveTalk - all IMs in one but costs $30
SoftReset - lets you reboot your BB without popping the battery
ColorPearl - can change the color of your pearl
BBTetris - tetris, not easy to come by
Any of the free games that come on the BB mobile site, type mobile.blackberry.com in your BB browser

Oh and get a 1GB or 2GB MicroSD memory card to store pics and ringtones/mp3s/videos. (Kingston 1GB Micro SD Card with SD Card Adapter, Model SDC/1GB, FREE STANDARD SHIPPING)

Nothing in particular, but generally these kind of software get used once you see it and you realize it could be useful. Thanks. Oh, and nobody would turn down some nice games!
