I just picked up a bb 8100 and a micro sd card and ive been trying to figure out how to put music on it but its not letting me do so..i go to desk top manager and before i can click the links it says to go to connection settings to specify the comunicatin settings i wish to use and says also that im not using a usb connection when i realy am...any tips?

what version of DM are you using? to go RIM's site and make sure you have the latest which is 4.2 sp2

now ur gonna laugh..whats dm..is it the program i loaded on my computer that came with my phone?

ok well i have that and its not letting me click media manager it just says im not connected with my usb cable and i am..i tryed all ports and i get the same thing every time

no, but what version of DM do you have? that could be the whole problem

well heres my suggestion... go to RIM's site and download the newest version, install that and see what happens, forget about the one thats on the CD and just get the one from RIM's site

You can always insert you MicroSD card into a laptop or a reader and transfer files that way.
