Type "youtube" in the search feature and you will find discussion and the answer, which is "no."

However, there are workarounds:

Its true you can't watch youtube videos on your phon e but there is an alternative. www.tinytube.com they post all the vids small enough to watch on the phone and you can watch youtube videos plus vids from a few other vid websites right from your phone. The bigger clips give the berry the hicups every now and then but for the most part they work ok. And here's one more vid site you can go to if'n yous bee's over 18 lol [phonerotica] fill in the rest didn't want to put in the www er the com not as to get anyone mad for a pron link on the forum.

i got tinytube to work, workes.... uhhh... great? its good for little clips but don't expect anything to brag about. but the up side is that you can download a high and low quality video

Its actually tinytube.net. Its not that great and I found that when you download and watch a video it causes a huge memory leak in the internal phone CPU. Which makes you do a battery pull sooner than normal.

Well I assume he meant being able to watch YouTube videos on the Pearl without downloading, in other words "streamed" or "live."

It's common knowledge that anyone can use your "workarounds" such as downloading or "ripping" YouTube videos off of their Site, converting them into Pearl format, then placing them on the Pearl's MicroSD chip.

That is not the same as watching YouTube videos like we do on our PC's.

And to give him the technical answer, there are two reasons why he can't play streamed YouTube videos on his Pearl, 1) the browser has limited functionality, aka there is no flash player or capability to play streamed video; and 2) the Pearl's EDGE speed is way too slow to play streamed video. When 3G come, yes, but not at this time.

TinyTube is a nice concept but it's only that, a concept or beta.

IMHO since the Pearl can play any video I want, after I convert it into Pearl format, these sites that let you download little 30 second clips is kind of silly and useless. It takes too long to access them and they are only short clips.

I yawned after seeing my first TinyTube video.

WELL EXCUSE ME no one said HEY YOU GO TO THIS SITE GRR . i just gave him another option to try and if hes new to it all it give hime some more experience on how the berry works and that its also possible to download right to the pearl.

My comment was not directed at your providing a link, it is what I would consider myself if I was looking at porno sites on the Pearl's little display. I would only need to do that if I was pretty desperate and a degenerate, IMHO.

I mean, how pathetic would I be if needing to look at sex sites while at the airport or in line somewhere?

But I do question referring members to a porno site to "see how the Pearl works." I think that might violate BBF rules. To each their own, of course.
