Talking 4.2.1.xx Plays WMA - Confirmed and Tested!!!!

Please Login to Remove!

I was screwing around today getting all excited about 4.2.2 supporting WMA because I thought that would be one step closer to playing Sirius on my Pearl when I came across a KB article on that 4.2.1 and above supports WMA.

I quickly found a WMA file, most of mine are MP3 at this point, loaded it and tested it. I confirmed that it was in fact WMA by opening it on my laptop and it is a WMA 9 format. And guess what, it plays perfectly!!!!

For those longing for WMA support, you no longer need to long, just upgrade to (as noted by RIM but only confirmed on any version of 4.2.1 OS.

I searched and didn't see this discussed anywhere, not even the OS release threads so I thought I would post a thread for all those searchers (which we commend for their efforts to look before they ask) to quickly find the answer to a question asked time and time again on the forums.

Happy WMAing on your 4.2.1 laced device!!!
