Default Question about email push

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to blackberrys. I got a blackberry data plan and setup my gmail account via the BIS interface. I thought the push stuff sends emails to your blackberry as soon as they come in but I'm seeing a delay.

For example, about 5 mins ago I sent an email to my gmail account and my phone has yet to pick up on it. It will get it sooner or later but its far from instant.

Was there something else I needed to configure for this? Or is this just the way it really works?

Yahoo! and Gmail should be pretty much instantaneous. You may try deleting your service books on your device (Options > Advanced Options > Service Books; delete each one except for Provisioning) and then resend them via the BIS account.

That seemed to have sped it up, thanks.

No doubt. Sometimes you will need to do that every so often, if the mail isn't getting delivered or if it is being delivered slow.
