Posting your PIN would allow other members to contact you via PIN message (text messaging for blackberry devices) or via Blackberry Messenger (IM for blackberry devices)
It's safe.
the worst that can happen is that you might get random strangers sending you messages from time to time. | | Offline

Yep, no big deal, if my experience is any indication. The PIN is unique to blackberries and thus a community thing we share. Post yours if you want, or not.

| The bottom line is that if you do not want people contacting you on your BB that you do not really know then do not post it.... Only about 10 people have mine and I wait to give it out...

Hey krystal welcome to the forum the pin is used on the blackberry in blackberry messanger its a quick way to contact other blackberry users with out giving out your cell phone. If you wanted to communcate with them also its just like an I'm program but only for blackberrys. Its safe I would say.

| if you dont have the data plan you wont be able to use it, and i dont even think you can use it with the BB enabler...
so you would need the bb data plan for all of the features of the BB, email, bb messenger, internet, ect ect | | Offline

| I have mine posted in my profile and I think 3 maybe 4 people have used it. Doesn't bother me at all to have it in there to be honest with you.

| Great....thanks for the responses.
As for the data plan, I think mine was an extra $20 for unlimited each month with Cingular/AT&T. | | Offline

| T-Mobile is 20 for unlimited I think AT&T is a bit more for unlimited.
