Unhappy SMS problem - see if you can work this one out - I cant

Please Login to Remove!

I am now on my second Pearl (Accident with the first). This problem was happening from day one of my first phone and from about day 2 or 3 with the second handset.

When I send a text its fine, it lists the name of the recipient that i have in my address book (as that is what i have selected), but if i get a reply or even a random text from a mate or anyone else that i have an address set up for - it never appears as the senders name.

always - +4407786******** etc, always the number, never the name (I am in the UK and the Int. dialling code is 0044)

SO FRUSTRATING, as it worked for a couple of days with the new phone, i received a couple of texts and the name appeared - happy days

Does anyone have any ideas. I am a mac user and before i go through the agony of trying a software update i am pleading to you all.

cheers Rippey

where are you from? whats your country code?

also to make sure you have the name display (if you want) when in your msg, click menu, options, general options, then choose show name.

Seems like this is fixed now, but just out of interest, isn't this format incorrect? Leading 0 on number should be dropped when using the international dialling code. Eg number is 07786 123456, but if using IDC should be +44 7786 123456
