I usually lock my keypad (holding the * key) when not using my Pearl. When I receive a call I will hit the answer key to pick it up. But after I am done with the call, I noticed that the Pearl unlocked the phone and I have to lock it again (if I remember). Is this normal behavior and if so, is there a way to change it so it stay locked after answering the phone?

I think there was a separate thread where someone asked the same question. I believe the outcome was that you will have to re-lock it manually. Or, you could check this thread here about AutoLock for the BlackBerry Pearl:

if you use a password to lock it, it will stay locked

You can hold the button on the top of the phone to lock it. And to unlock it you just push it.

^ that doesnt lock the phone, that puts it in stand by

autolock is what you need.
