Default HUGE PEARL problem Please HELP All contacts LOST!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey every one this is extremely urgent. I upgraded my firmware today to the latest firmware(4.2.1.164)and every thing seemed to have gone fine until i saw my contact list had been erased!!! I did a back up before i upgraded and every time i try to restore it it says "Could not establish communications with device. A required application is missing from device".

Some one please help!

Relax....I don't have the answer but be patient I know someone here will. It sounds like you need to load an application from the DM to the Pearl. I just don't know which one....

Im sorry if i came off as impatient. Its just that if I loose all of these contacts i will be in some pretty big trouble.

I understand!! I am sure someone will help! In the meantime, when you go into the Application Loader on the Desktop Manager what programs are listed?

Scratch that....I think that something went wrong when you loaded the OS.

have you tried to restore jsut your contacts, using the backup/restore?

Thats the problem i cant restore Anything. When ever i try to click on advanced it just gives me that error.

i Fixed it. I went into app loader and blackberry Md5 runtime wasnt installed for some reason so i did and it restored perfectly got all my contacts back!
thanks for the help and on a side note, not as serious but my blackberry browser is gone. i still have tzones and opera mini but it is gone. any help gettin it back?

go into options>advanced>host routing table and then select register now.

If you sync your contacts to Outlook, you never have to worry about losing them. If something happens, you can always do a new sync. I've been syncing contacts between phone and Outlook for a long time and the ability to sync is one of my primary requirements in a phone.

Hi, I currently have the same problem with my blackberry 8800, I would like to download Blackberry Md5 runtime and try to see what happens.

Where's the best place to download this?
