Hi all -
I've searched the Pearl thread exensively and didn't see any scenario that really matched the one that one of my users is experiencing on his pearl. Most of the threads on here point to a memory issue with the pearl and a simple cleanout and reboot of the pearl wipes out the issue. This however does not solve my customer's issue.
For my customer, here's the scenario:
1. The pearl only automatically deletes BES messages, not BIS emails, call logs, or SMS messages.
2. Customer lives in Point A. Has no problems whatsoever with messages deleting on their own on his Pearl.
3. Customer works in Point B at T-Mobile store. When he gets into the office, pearl switches from EDGE to GSM. Has to power cycle phone to get back to EDGE. As soon as it is power cycled, the BES messages start to disappear. Location does not have a repeater.
To troubleshoot - we did a complete system wipe and installed 220.127.116.11 (which is the current T-Mobile standard release). Did not restore any other data (no calendar entries, no contacts, nothing!) and as soon as we sent a test message to it, it was gone within a minute. Also removed/re-added and moved to different BES.
I'm absolutely baffled what in the system could be causing this to happen. Has anyone seen this particular scenario happen to them?
