Default To prevent deletion??

Please Login to Remove!

Yeah, I know it's been discussed on why messages and call logs are deleted. Well, mine deletes once a day. Starting to piss me off. I dont have a ton of pics added. I removed languages I dont use and I have nothing but ColorPearl installed. It is attached to office email, so I get a ton of messages during the day, but I try to stay on deleting them as I read them on the PC. What more can I do? I was told someone called customer care and they made some setting changes to help this, but what gives?

Newer operating systems fix this bug.

How much free memory do you have?

You do need to free up some more space, though. I believe the deletion issue will occur with anything less than 10-12MB, but that new OS should fix that once you get it installed. Try to pull the battery out while the unit is on to see if any space is freed up until you can install the new OS.

The instructions are here, however it references the .101 OS. The newest OS can be found after you log in to T-Mobile's BIS web site: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...2-1-101-a.html

10mb....that's crap where most phones dont even have that kind of storage....like my krzr. If I can't get less than 10mb, I need a new device. I have a 1gb sd card in it that has a lot of pics on it, but that memory should not affect phone mem should it?

Gix,

If you have followed the instructions then I am guessing running applications are eating the memory. When you are done with anything always close it using Menu>Close(or End) and not the Red End key. The end key will send the program to the background where the application will still take a memory allocation. To see what you have running ALT+ESC. My guess with your memory that low is you will see every application that you use running.

Let me know if this helps!

I did have a lot of things running there. I thought the red key ended the app I had open. I know better now. The mem under status did not change much though.

Close all applications not in use.

POWERCYCLE ONCE A DAY... That's how I keep my free memory up,
and prevents the deletion. I go through close to 10000 text messages a month, and hundreds of calls, and I have never once had the deletion problem occur.

It flushes the system, the cache, and closes programs you may not know are still running.

You won't reclaim the memory until you do a hard reset.

Good luck!
