Default 8100 usb sync problems with xp

Please Login to Remove!

Hi to everyone who has taken time to look at my thread... and thanks.
My problem is I've had my BB Pearl for a few months now, and at home I have never been able to sync the BB to my PC properly. I have installed the same software (latest SP2) at my office and it runs perfectly. What has me confused is that the first ever time I connected the BB to my PC at home, it worked and I was able to put a few songs on etc... that same night the problem appeared. What happens is I connect the BB to the PC via the USB connection, xp bleeps as usual when connecting a device, then bleeps as if it were discconected, then connects again, disconnects... and so on all day if I were to leave it connected. :(
What could you guys recommend?
Thanks

Here is what my machine does.

Connects (bleep)

Disconnects (bleep)

Open DM and everything works with no problem.

You may try uninstalling the Desktop Manager application, rebooting your computer, then reinstalling it.

for all eternity...

I have reinstalled everything, more than once. Even tried new USB drivers but everything else works perfectly.
