I haven't tried this but I was told it this works!

Since I have a mac, I haven't synced my BB to my mac.
I'd like to put music on my BB.

Without synching, I could use a USB card reader with a micro SD plugged into my mac and then I could click and drag files onto the micro SD.
Then I could remove the micro SD and insert into my BB and this would allow me to play my music.

So, if this is the case do I need to format the micro SD first? And do I still have to allow for mass storage onto BB before I insert the micro SD?

Don't know anything about the MAC but what you described is the way I've loaded my card. Close to 2G worth of music.

Nothing. I've heard some say that they formatted their card but mine worked right out of the package.

Also, another option (that would avoid you even having to remove the microSD card from your Pearl) is to set your Pearl for Auto Enable Mass Storage. I think this results in your PC reading the Pearl as a separate drive, in which case you could copy the files directly to the card while in the phone.

To do this go into Options - Advanced Options - Media Card - Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected = Yes.

I think this will work. If not, your suggestion of using the adapter will do just fine. Good luck.
