Okay so this weekend my dad is taken me to Vegas before i ship out to basic.I have my BB set up to keep time via the network. Does anyone know if it will adjust to Vegas time. And while I'm talkin about travel I shouldn't expect any roaming charges should I???
Your blackberry will be sync'd to the network time, with offset according to time zone setting. But you must manually adjust time zone setting. It is not automatic on blackberrys.
On billing question, if you have national plan, you should be ok. I could be wrong, but that's the way it is with my carrier. Someone will confirm or correct me.
As for the time zone..
Check Settings -> Date/Time and make sure the Date/Time source is enabled...
if it doesn't update, just swap your timezone to the appropriate one.
There ARE restrictive local voice plans for many carriers,
that restrict you to dialing and roaming within your region, which usually
consists of several states (yours, and 2-3 surrounding).
They usually are labelled as "REGIONAL PLAN".
Double check and if it is a regional plan (not very popular, so chances are slim),
and just have them switch you over to a national calling plan.

Nope. In fact, don't even take it with you planning on storing it away with your civilian items you bring with you. When I went to Basic Training (Army) in 1991 anything considered contraband was turned in or confiscated as we got there. They even went through our bags to make sure we weren't bringing in anything we weren't supposed to be. I had to give up a few "harmless" things like books that I had brought along.
