Default trackball popped out, DONT EVER BUY NETHING from these people

Please Login to Remove!

If you dont like getting RIPPED OFF NEVER BUY FROM MOBILE SOLUTIONS!!! I purchased my Pearl from Mobile Solutions on NOV 06' and was TOLD by two sales reps there, that the mobile solutions insurance policy for the phone was $80 for a 2 year policy, which covered replacement of phone if damaged/lost/stolen/dropped in water or anything. The only thing to come out of our pockets would have been shipping and handling. Well, this week i dropped my phone and the whole trackball assembly unit just popped right out, and I was never able to find it. Not worrying too much i thought the insurance on phone that was PAID UPFRONT, would cover it. Was I wrong!...
Me and my wife both called today and were both told I would have to pay an additional $105.00 to replace the phone, when told it only needs the trackball they said they ONLY replace the whole phone NO parts!..When we asked them what the hell the $80 covers then?.we were never given a striaght up answer a,with the most common answer being that "you wouldn't have to pay RETAIL PRICE for the phone and start a whole new contract over"?!?!?...WTF....so basically if I want this phone, which I purchased almost a year ago for $250.00 ( and i never got my $50 rebate from T-MO, thats a whole nother story lol!!)..I would have to pay altogether another $185 to replace it NOW?..anyone else have any experiences like this with mobile solutions or any other T-MO authorized reseller?..

BTW: any trackball assembly units for sale? ....

I know it sucks! but you have about the best insurance out there. No one, and I mean no one replaces a phone for $80 bucks. At $80 & $105 your a bit ahead of most insurances I have found.

Because of this I go unprotected, however, I know it will cost me the price of a new phone should something happen. I would rather do that then pay these highway robbers insurance prices!!

Not sure if this is just the Trackball or if it's the Trackball assembly.

The trackball asseembly stated in the post above mine comes with everything except the internal retaining bracket. Make sure you get one of those if you decide to get a new trackball.

So paying $80 for 2-years with a $105 deductible is a slightly better deal.

However, sorry to hear you're having issues with your Pearl. Hopefully you can get it replaced without too much hassle or are able to replace the trackball.

Dave
sgtcasey is exactly right.
Basically, you just forked out $80 upfront to be covered under the insurance.
The $105 is the deductible, and every insurance policy has this.
The difference is where you're money comes from in the beginning to be covered... Monthly? or upfront?

You got a better deal, quite honestly, BUT... Asurion is a much more reliable company and deals with all major competitors.

As for as Mobile Solutions (aka TMS), they are the most scandalous, most outrageous and high pressure company.

If you search google for TMS, there's HUGE threads on places like HowardForums that talk about people's experiences through them.
and.. I'm actually shocked that this is your only issue that came from your
purchase with them.
(Not saying all their salesman are evil... but quite a few.)
